When Aaron and I got married I put the kabosh on a few of his most onerous bachelor habits. Public enemy numero uno was his habit of wearing sweat pants in public. Not public like out on the running track or sports field, public like law school and D & D parties. I laid down the law - no sweatpants before 9pm and they staid in the house.
With pregnancy I found myself wearing pants that more often than not had an elastic waste band. I made a rule for myself that three months after Reuben was born I wasn't allowed to wear anything but "real" pants - no elastic allowed. I made the mistake of mentioning this rule to Aaron and he has enforced it with a glee and relish that I found surprising. It was surprising until in an aside he referenced his beloved lost sweat pant habit. So I am living under the strict enforcement that comes from revenge. I tried arguing that yoga pants are not sweat pants but was shot down. So you should see me in only cords or jeans before 9 pm thanks to Aaron.

You guys are funny. Personally, I love my elastic waste band pants! and when Eliza was Reuben's age, Steve was lucky to see me changed out of my pj's or work-out clothes at all some days. Although, that's still true on some of the days I don't work NOW too. (Steve doesn't care much about clothes, though, as you know.)
If I wore my "good" pants when I'm just getting dirty with Eliza and cooking/cleaning, then I wouldn't have much to wear in public or at work.
Ha, that's funny!
yoga pants are not sweatpants if they have a hem or if you paid more than $30 for them from the Title 9 catalog.
Couldn't live without my elastic waist pants, but they aren't usually sweats. In fact I alter some of my regular pants so they have an elastic waist. Too many years of being pinched in half I guess.
Maybe you and Aaron will want to renegotiate.
9 pm! That's late! As soon as I would get off work I donned the elastic waist pants. Now they are my biggest friend.
How about you make a deal? If you can, then he can? Maybe?
i have to agree with you on the sweats front. they're bad. i don't even think they should be worn to work out in (although i have to admit that i used to wear them to warm up for a track or cc race...but back in the day there weren't many other types of warm-up pants to wear).
my "dress" routine has certainly changed since i've started working at home. a good day is when i'm wearing jeans. a bad day, which is pretty often, is when i'm wearing pj pants that are a little too much like hammer pants. oh, well. no one sees me except when the unsuspecting person decides to try to sell me something or give me a package.
