What's cute and chubby and waddles everywhere?
A baby Penguin Reuben.

My Aunt Joan sewed the most amazing baby penguin costume for Reuben for Halloween. It was amazingly cute. It hung all the way down but we pushed up the legs to try to keep him cooler. It was a really warm night.
Reuben loves hanging out with his cousin Eliza. Everywhere she went he waddled after.

Here's Reuben flapping his flippers.

The profile.

Check out the great penguin tail.

Since it was in the 80s, we let Reuben out of his costume before the heat stroke set in.
Here Eliza is keeping him safe in the trick or treat wagon ride.

Here's Reuben raiding Eliza's candy.

Some of you might be wondering, why a penguin?
When I first heard Reuben cry, I thought, he sounds exactly like a baby penguin. And he did, his newborn cry was a soft whistling coo. He's grown into his lungs since then and can really wail but I'll always remember his first little penguin noises.

I Love the picture of Reuben following Eliza. It looks like he wants so desperately to be a grown-up. And I love the penguin costume, and the reason for being a penguin.
What an adorable costume! Reuben makes a very cute baby penquin.
Haha I love the tail. So funny. Great pics, Katy!
What a great costume! Reuben looks so good. It is fun to hear about all of your adventures in SC. Hope you guys are doing well!
LOVE the profile picture. SO cute!
Darling costume!
You have a very cute little penguin baby - something you already know I am sure:) Thank you for sharing your halloween with us - it looks like you had a fun time! I am sad/glad that Reuben is walking. Wow! Where have I been? In the land of the mountains and Indians and Cougars - oh my! :)Utah. I hope you are doing well, and that you have had no more theft surprises at your apartment building...that would have been a scary halloween.

That's an amazing costume! One day I will learn to sew.
Oh I miss warm Halloweens. Here, we have to figure out how to keep her warm without ruining the costume!
