A subtle way to encourage people to conserve gas during World War II, I presume. Since conserving fuel is also an issue today, what would be a similar analogy that could be used now?? "You'll be sitting with your grandchild with asthma if you don't share rides..." or something like that. I don't know. Any ideas? I love the subtlety - ha!
