If You Give a Sister a Cracker

Reuben seems to have decided that he likes Miriam (or as he says Meow-meow) well enough. He's even started to show her some love. It warmed my heart when he insisted on giving her a cracker. Miriam was not conscious for the event but her grasping reflex cooperated nicely. She held onto her cracker for a good five minutes which pleased Reuben.

The next day he found her several scabby, dirt encrusted rocks and supervised carefully to be sure I helped her grasp each one. That's some serious twenty month old love - or some seriously stealthy biological warfare.

And this is rather random but did you know microwave popcorn is really just popcorn in a bag? You can make your own by putting popcorn in a brown paper bag and folding it up. Check it out.

Sibling love - how funny! Good thing Miriam had the right response to the cracker.

And no more air popper for me! The air popper doesn't pop half the kernels anyway and gets so hot i'm guessing it sucks more energy than a hair dryer. I don't know why I thought you had to have fat if you pop popcorn any other way. I would just add Splenda and cinnamon instead of sugar and cinnamon. I use this for cinnamon toast too. Works great. Happy eating!

He really did want to share with Miriam. I am glad I got to witness the beginning of "sharing with his sister". He was really worried when the nurse took blood from Miriam, too. He gave the nurse a serious scowl!

Whether it was biological warfare or love, it does show consideration - as he is giving her some of the things that he loves most. What a delightful way to tell this story, Katy! "If you give a sister a cracker..." :) I hope that the love continues smoothly between Reuben and Miriam. I hope you are feeling good, and that the summer heat has cooled down for you!
