About a mile back with 2.5 to go, the bottom dropped out of the storm. With each breath I was sucking in as much water as air. It was coming from every direction, heavy drops of rain pelted my back, gusts of wind beat it sideways, cars spewed filthy sheets off the road, and I could feel it trickle and pool through my helmet and down my face. The synonymous cracks of thunder and flashes of lightning drove home that trying to make it back, maybe wasn't one of my smartest ideas. I started to think, I hope I don't die like this, I was really looking forward to seeing Aaron tonight. Well, the Lord was willing, and I survived. But lest you think I exagerate, here is a snippet of the storm I captured on the video camera when I got home. That noise is the wind and rain. And I know, No awards for cinematogrophy on this one. Hope you don't get too dizzy.
And I have to provide an ad for the BEST bags in the world: The TIMBUK2 messenger bag! As you saw, I was in DRENCHING rain for at least twenty minutes and all my possession remained snug and dry. AMAZING! I'm not so waterproof. I wanted to show how wet I was but I, of course, chose to wear a white t-shirt to bike in today so to keep this post PG it had to be a neck up shot.

i'm glad you're safe
wild!
random question, do you have the book freakonomics?
I have it on MP3. Aaron might have the paper copy somewhere. I seem to remember seeing it around. Do you want to borrow it?
That was smart, Katy! You could have waited. Was it James that told you about the storm? At least Aaron can know he was one of your chief thoughts.
oh, no! katy! That looked CRAZY!! I was worried that you might have gotten caught in the storm. Eek!
We received a VERY mysterious package in the mail that I think was meant for you... but there's no note or return address really. Also your bday present from us arrived too! Get ready for a renewed love affair with your favorite Marty!!
by the way that comment was from me (amy) not steve... i really should set up my own account one of these days...
I'm amazed you didn't biff it on the way home. Props on some skilled bike-riding, Katy!
Yowzers...I too was caught in that storm and while walking from the Goodwill to my car, while using an umbrella, I was still soaked through my clothes. You gotta love the daily 5 o clock storm here. I'm glad you didn;t drown.
Yea, I'd love to borrow it. I'd prefer a paper copy (hopefully I'll be able to do some reading at the cabin), but otherwise, the mp3 version would be nice for the drive out. Can you send it with Aaron on his way up tomorrow?
Hi Katy,
That's crazy! I was at work during that storm and water was leaking under the doors because the rain was coming down sideways. It was nuts. You're a champion. And I missed you at church today. Glad you got to be w/ Aaron, though!
