I enjoy looking respectable. Not fancy, not impressive, I just want to look decent at work. But I HATE shopping. I hate trying to find my size. I hate trying clothes on. I hate wandering through malls. I hate malls. I just want cool long lasting clothes to magically appear at my door ready for me to love. Or I want friends with incredible taste so I can piggy back on their style. So cool friends, help me out. Anyone know any good (yet still affordable) places to obtain clothing? My wardrobe needs some serious help.
To be fair, here's some of the places I enjoy:
H&M -WHY WHY WHY do they not have a website???
Lands End - Long lasting wrinkle resistant button up shirts help make it possible for me to get through the week (and they have good sales)
www.threadless.com - I've said this before. Fun t-shirts. We just bought Aaron the "November was a Good Month" T (above)
Blue Ridge Mountain Sports (which has insanely good sales) and REI
Thrift store
Here's where I would love to shop if I had a million dollars:
www.anthropologie.com
ann taylor loft
www.urbanoutfitters.com
So now it's obvious. I do Not know where or how to buy clothes. Help.

I think you have fun taste and look very professional without looking "stuffy". You've done well transitioning from student to professional wear. Keep doing what you're doing...
i am a little embarrassed to say, but when I lived in C-ville, I bought all of my clothes at Target, Old Navy in the kids section, and the Salvation Army on Cherry St. Hey, we were poor. Now that we are really poor and living with my parents - HA - I bought some new clothes once again at Target...they were on super sale for $2. Yeah. I really have no advice except that learning to sew your own clothes COULD be fun. But I'm not sure yet.
I'm thinking about going to Richmond this weekend for a little shopping trip. Would you be interested?
p.s. - H&M does have a website. You just can't purchase clothes online from it.

i really like delias (steve calls it sailed-- it's backwards, i guess he thinks it's a pun) but know that their sizes run small.
i think target actually has a pretty impressive selection (maternity and regular, not that you need to know that). old navy is my favorite here in town and they have a TON of like $6 dollar pants on sale right now.
and i know you rarely appreciate them, but sometimes tjmax has good buys if you don't mind really spending some time grazing thru the crappy/slutty stuff. other fav is gap on sale.
can you tell I just went shopping for real work clothes for my new job-- i realized i had collected an exorbitant amount of sweats and t-shirts previous to my new employment- not so helpful.
o and i don't usual shop at wal-mart for clothes but i was there to get some baby supplies and i found a cute work sweater/blouse for 10 bucks. so this is my 1000 word essay response to your post. hope it's helpful and not boring. (i miss nyc H&M too)
another tip I have is to find a favorite, quality line of clothes that fits you well. For me, it is Talbot's. Then, search on Ebay for that brand of clothing in your size. You can get great deals and still know that you are getting a quality product. It will be even easier for you since you are small...there seem to be lots of size 6, 8 and 10's...
