On President's Day, Norma was kind enough to accompany me on a hike of the Jones River Trail. The trail follows a few miles of continuous waterfalls up and down a mountain or two. It's one of the prettiest trails I've been on and I hope I get a chance to go back to it when spring arrives.
As you can see in the picture, I'm a little wet. NEVER believe the weather report. It said it was supposed to be sunny all day. So against my better judgments I left my brand-new, invincible rain coat at home. Norma and I proceeded to get soaked in the three or four downpours that crowded over the mountain. It made for a slippery trail and a couple stream crossings were a challenge but the falls were all full and gorgeous.
I had such a good time, I really can't wait for the weather to turn and Aaron to be done with law school so I can go hiking all the time. Aaron has already told me to not get my hopes up since he won't be hiking with me this summer but dutifully studying for the bar exam. Sigh... I suppose I should stop hoping for him and just get a dog. Or maybe I can work on convincing Norma to quit her job and I'll quit mine so we can hike the Appalachian trail together this summer. It's always been a dream of mine and Aaron has already demanded that I stay out of the house and away from him so he can study in peace. I won't be interrupting his studies if I'm in the backwoods of Tennessee. This is sounding better and better. Anyone else interested in a 3 month long hike?

What a GORGEOUS waterfall! Good find, Katy.
If you ever need to get out of the house, you can come hang out at my house. :)
Oh! So pretty! How far away is that?
Maybe a 3 hour hike, I am not sure about a 3 day hike. :) I would love to go on the Jones River Trail. It looks so nice!
Katy.....I wish wish wish I could come do this. I have wanted to for awhile, but it never seemed feasible. And now I have a kid. But I am thinking about it. Since I do live in Alabama for a few months.
I am.
