Aaron and I had a good Valentine's this year. He gave me a ten pound bag of boiled peanuts and I got him a backgammon set. We've been playing backgammon every night since which has been a lot of fun. (Especially since we're at about 6-1 in my favor)
Aaron has kept it interesting by setting up the board slightly differently each night. Each time he assured me that last night was off but now it's right. Last night we finally looked it up on the internet so our game play should be pretty kosher from now on.
If you haven't tried backgammon before, I highly recommend it. It's a good mix of luck and strategy and it goes pretty quickly. I guess that's why it's survived for more than 5,000 years. That makes backgammon older than some people believe the earth to be. Which makes me happy.

That sounds fun! Therapeutically, playing games is a nice combination of relaxation and stimulation (some people need their relaxation to be stimulating too), and therefore it benefits you on a stress-management level and relationship building level. ehh... i've been at work too much lately.
We'll have to look into getting ourselves a board! especially if I can beat Steve at it (unlikely).
I also wish I received a 10 lb bag of boiled peanuts for V-day!! I'm jealous!
I've always wanted to learn backgammon and whist. Oh, and dominoes.
Wow, so backgammon predates the creation! Awesome!
:D
Cool, sounds like fun!
