Lost Bragging Rights

Tomorrow is my birthday. I expected I would have had my baby by now. I kind of hoped I would because then I would have had the bragging rights of having Reuben at the age of 25 and Baby 2 at the age of 26. But it's looking like it's not to be, though I'm having some pretty strong contractions. But that's been happening for the last three weeks.

Still I don't mind the extra time. It's easier to take care of a baby inside me than out. And I was able to wrap up two major work projects earlier this week which was absolutely miraculous and has me feeling eerily ...free! I LOVE finishing work projects. I love being paid.

I'd kind of like to make a Charleston coconut cake to celebrate but I'm debating wether it's worth firing up the oven in the middle of the night. It's too hot during the day.

I think you still get bragging rights just for having your kids! That cake looks great. Maybe someone who has air-conditioning will make it for you...

Happy Birthday, Katy! Hope you enjoy it, that it isn't too hot, and hope your little girl comes soon! p.s. the verification word for this was "coushe." Made me think of a cross between "cousin" and "she" haha.

well that coconut cake is yummy but a sane person (not your mother) would have waited for air conditioning before attempting to bake it.
