Summertime and the livin is easy

There's not much better than a cold ice cream on a hot summer day. Today Reuben and I walked to our awesome local convenience store which sells soft serve ice cream. While we were in the shop a guy came in, bought a scratch off lotto ticket, and won $500. To celebrate he bought our cone for us, gave each of the clerks a $25 tip and explained how to pick the winning numbers. After he left the clerks told me the guy is a regular and he wins ALL the time, at least once a week. Seems like a good guy to know.

So who are the people in your neighborhood?

That's a REALLY cute picture of Reuben! Way to be in the right place at the right time!

There is a couple downstairs and to the left of us who seem to be the neighborhood dog watchers. They seem to be nice people - we haven't really met them yet. There is a redhaired teenage boy who is almost always in the little business center here in the apartment "clubhouse," who is so intent on his coffee and computer, that I am fairly certain he is writing a novel. Or, a successful e-bay trader. Or an online stock broker. Who knows?

And did the clerks say WHEN he comes in? Sounds like you and RJ need to get in on the free cone action more often.

I love this post title. I want summer to be like that for me and my kids. How can I do that? Right now I think we're at "Summertime and Mom's Stressed Out and the Kids are Always in Trouble." It just doesn't have the same ring.
