Lets play a game. Ok, it's not a very fun game. It's really more depressing than anything else. If you go here, you can play a little game called Consumer Consequences. It shows just how many earths (in relation to resources you consume) we would need if EVERYONE on the planet lived just like you. If everyone lived like me we would need about 3 earths. 3 Earths! And I live in an apartment, ride my bike and carpool to work, don't eat meat, often attempt to purchase organic and local foods, don't drink or smoke, take army showers and subject friends and family members to my anxieties for the environment. (That last one doesn't actually get any points, I just want you all to know that I appreciate your kind ear.) Depressing. I do admit, I should recycle more. That lost me points. So is it even possible to be a "no impact" consumer? One man is attempting it. You can read his blog here.

While Consumer Consequences is an informative game, it is definitely not the most entertaining. If you want entertaining, checkout Greenpeace's kids spot here. I LOVE these games, mainly because of the awesome propaganda and they are deliciously mindless in that tetris kind of way. In my favorite one, "Save the Whales!" you try to save a very stupid whale from a whaling ship in a little rubber Greenpeace boat. I swear the whale ALWAYS swims right to the whaling ship. Oy! Trying to save the world, even on the computer, is HARD work.
PS If you looked at this post earlier, you probably saw the link to the greenpeace games wasn't working. I've fixed it.

I don't like the consumer game cause I can't take into account that I drive a clean fuel burning car. Grrr.
Ours doen't seem to want to work, but I like the whales game.
Sorry about that, that link has now been fixed.
I saw these on Etsy and thought of you:

Possible Christmas gift for un-green friends?
That was a good reminder of what else I can do. My biggest score was on the food page. Still, I got 2.9... maybe I should plant a bigger garden next year?
Chelsea-Those are really cool.
Maren - Me too! The food page was super high compared to the rest.
That Aaron comment was really me.
