Ready, Set, No.

We've sensed a fair bit of speculation on the part of our friends and family about when we are having kids. We've decided to set the record straight. We are NOT pregnant. We were pregnant, have been pregnant, but never had one last. That's the way it goes sometimes. We're not too upset . . . Ok, I'm not too upset. We promise to let everyone who is interested know when we really are permanently pregnant. Until then it sort of hurts when you ask.

I'm SO with you on this one. Our personal experience with fertility woes have been such that I will never ever ask someone if/when they're going to have kids. Since Sawyer is now 2 1/2 we get asked about when we're having another all the time - even from people who should know better! I usually just give them a long drawn out explanation about IVF and how expensive, invasive and painful it is and that shuts them up for at least a few minutes.

I'm sorry if I've ever been one of those people...

I recently had a friend (who will remain nameless) write me an email saying, "so I've heard that you're trying for your second child?"

WHAT?! I hadn't heard that... and how is that a rumor?

people get really weird about this subject. there are some things that are just b/t you and your spouse.

I remember 11 long months (and MANY pregnancy tests) of hoping to get pregnant before Spencer came along. I vowed at that time I would never ask others about their child-bearing plans, etc...and yet I have caught myself before with my foot in my mouth.

We'll just rejoice with you when the time comes to rejoice. :0) We love you!

I'm in the same boat as Amy - I'm sorry if I've ever asked you that. I hate it when people ask me about it, too. You just never know what personal battles people are going through.

You are so right. It's nobody's business.

Ah, Katy--how I always love your blog. I just don't understand why people think they can ask questions about when people are going to have kids. Yes, we all wonder, but asking....that's like saying, so when you had sex last night, were you trying to make a baby, or just having a good time. Yet, I dont ever recall anyone asking me that. Anyhoo, I can safely say I have never asked you about this. But that is probably because I live in Iowa. Okay, I am done. Have a great day. Oh, I hope no one is offended by my use of the S word...I know this is a family friendly blog. Feel free to delete this if you dont want Abby to see this.

That's a fun picture of Aaron. Is that suppose to show that Aaron is pregnant? ;) Anyway, I'm sorry if I ever asked you and will shut up from now on. Love, Abby

P.S. I'm fine with the S-word. We're reading the book "All Quiet on the Western Front" and the word comes up a lot. Plus we talk about the weirdest things in English Dumbledore being gay. :(
